An attempt...

So I'm trying to get cool people to come to Manhattan to speak... not saying that President Bush and Mikael Gorbechev weren't cool.. but maybe someone that would appeal to those of us out there that... say... liked Star Trek: TNG. Or play poker and watch celebrity tournaments. Or enjoy good books like Just a Geek and Dancing Barefoot...

Thanks :)

I don't update this enough.

Yeah, I really should update this more... but there are so many other things to do out there... things that are far more interesting.

Whats up around here? Not much really, I got a new job, working at the KSU Foundation Center with the LASER project, which is replacing some software, switching to Oracle based software to help with enrollment, billing, etc. I'm really not sure exactly what the job is yet, but I'll find out soon. Apparently my first job is going to be doing some graphic representations of data for some big meeting on May 5th. Thanks for the time to work on it, since I start on the 17th. Heh.

I'm going home this weekend, spend a few days chilling at home (ie packing up more stuff, I'm afraid)... maybe watch some movies, hang out with the dog, etc. I haven't been home since Christmas. Luckily the folks are paying for my gas to get home - I don't start making money for another couple of weeks.

I sprained my ankle over the weekend, that was exciting (oh man it still is too!)... I was doing some research on Google and read some neat AdWord ads, and one caught me as damn funny.

I know I'm going to BUY IT NOW! for ankle sprain. :D

Hmm.. not much else, just school and work, trying to make some money, etc. I'm tempted to start making photo enameled Italian Charms, but I may wait till I have a bit more money to invest.

Well with that, class is almost over, and I'm going to subway for lunch. Its tuesday, they have great deals. Yay!

In an attempt to post more here than LJ...

Another day... another $40 spent, and probably $20 made. Go figure.

Not much going on today... class... work... (which by the way, is so awkward now at ResNet than in the days that we actually DID things, rather, now its "well Symantec didn't install properly... you can't get online, you'll have to talk to my boss.")... Jesse's sick, so I dropped by for a little Nurse Amber action (haaa that sounds like it should be a bad porno flick, but no, it wasn't)... came home, studied a bit, talked to my mom...

***

So otherwise... I guess some of my friends have been posting about things that they're falling in love with/are in love with/will fall in love with... and I guess I'm going to kind of post a bit of that...

Animal Crossing - I blame Jesse for my unnatural attachment to pixellated friends. I have it on my DS, and frankly, sometimes I feel like I have better friends in Utopia2 than in real life... but I can't hug those, I can hug my real life friends.

Black Cherry Vanilla Diet Coke - It was on sale at Walmart when I went tonight. The first sip tasted like Black Cherry yogurt.. now its just a funky vanilla cherry coke mix. I don't know if I like it better than Diet Cherry Coke or Diet Vanilla Coke.

XM Radio - Yes, folks, I've become so enamored by my Roady XT that I bought a house kit for it and am listening to it whenever I can. If they made a portable kit for it, I'd probably buy it too. I must get another job to be able to afford the service once my free stint is up... I never thought I'd get so spoiled by such frivolous things, but damn. That leads me onto my next item on the list...

Keurig Single Cup Brewer w/ K-Cup coffee/tea - I blame the demonstration company for this and the XM Radio (both were products I demo'd at Dillards and Walmart, and got to keep the machine, or received one as a gift). Yeah, who the hell buys a $150 single cup coffee/tea brewer, and then pays $10-20 for like 18-50 k-cups for brewing drinks. Its fast, I don't drink a whole pot anyway, and I've got a ton of coffee/tea left from demos... I'm sure once I'm out, I'll probably get some other types of coffee/tea... shame on me. I'm thinking this makes me a Gen Y Yuppie.

Jeff Buckley - I loved this guy before, but Jesse has really opened my eyes/ears to him again. Mmmm, yay Jeff Buckley. You died far too soon, my friend.

Okay yeah thats it. I should finish my soup, which almost made the list (Campbell's Selects Roasted Garlic and Potato soup).. but... eh, I don't love it THAT much... and then I should probably go to bed. Long day tomorrow, studying for a test, some homework, and all sorts of goodness.

Updated again? No way!

Long time, no post, eh?

So... Its about time that I post something here again, I haven't since before the new year. Lots of crazy changes going on in my life... probably most of you who read this thing (on the off chance you do, because I haven't updated in so long), know these things, or at least read my LiveJournal as well.

Well lets see.

I quit Alltel. Go me!

I started back at school. Go me! I switched to Art History, and will graduate in Spring 07 because of the foreign language requirement. Boo that, but hooray for going back to school!

I haven't been to any concerts since the final ABJ show back on Dec 23rd, got Jesse and Phil to go. It was good times. Next show will probably be The Famed on Feb 10th, and Stuck on Broadway on Feb 11th.

Christmas wasn't too bad. New Years was really good.

I'm back working at ResNet. *sigh* Not overly thrilled by this, not so much the fact I'm back there, but the fact I had to start over.. looking like base pay, and going from top dog to lowly bottom feeder again. Meh.

Hmmm. I'm trying to get a laptop. However I have a feeling my next big thing to save up for is going to be a car. The good ol' Escort sounds bad (yet, still?).

Today the Pres of the USA came to my school. I didn't go. I sat in my pajamas and watched it on tv as I ate a tv dinner. It could have turned out much worse, but he wasn't too bad of a speaker, as much as it pains me to say anything positive about Bush. *shrugs*

Well with that, it was an update, brief, but yes.

To sum up the end/beginning of the year... I've got my health (other than this wicked headache), I've got friends and family who love me, and I'm happy.

I'm sorry I suck at updating this thing...

Yeah, I'm still a firm believer in my LiveJournal. Anywho, whats going on though, in a nutshell:

I'm learning how to play bass! Well.. I will be. My bass should be here tomorrow. And once I get halfway decent, I think the band (Which I've dubbed "Silicon Parts", it may stick) will start practicing. I don't feel bad though, I'm thinking that Kuffs has never played keys before either.

Work sucks. We all know this though. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for new better jobs. I'm afraid, though, that this will include a move to KC. The idea of moving to KC doesn't bother me though... I'd be a lot closer to fix The Famed's computer problems... and I've got a lot of friends there. However, I've got a wonderful boyfriend here, good friends, and a lease (and NHL Center Ice!).

Spokes, the hedgehog, is still cranky. I've gotten to the point where she'll take food from my hands though.

Working on several websites! I got "hired" on by Stuck on Broadway to do their web design. Of course with the transition of drummers at the moment, its a little messy with the band. I'm also still working on getting PunkFrog completely live.

Otherwise, there are lots of little things otherwise going on. I'll try to post more soon. Now, though, I must get ready to head to Lawrence!

The Famed/Stuck on Broadway/Anything But Joey - PJs Manhattan KS

Pictures from PJs - 9/30

Have I ever mentioned how absolutely crappy the lighting is there? Wait, yes I have.

Good times though, hadn't seen everyone for quite a while. Enjoy. More to come later, maybe some site updates with PunkFrog.

updated! no way!

Well best summer ever is over, especially since the first day of autumn was last week... and I haven't updated in a while.

Not sure what to say right now, other than I'm trying to figure out where this blog will now head. I'm wondering if maybe I shouldn't link it with PunkFrog... but I'm not sure exactly why a photography site needs a blog. Maybe to go over techniques, locations and settings for each set of photos uploaded. I don't know.

Probably more important to get the actual site running first. That makes sense, yes? I thought so.

I'm going to bed. But I will leave you with this: (see newer post)

Mission #98 - Wedding Crashers

Mission #98 - Watch a Movie (50 pts)

On my afternoon off, I went to see Wedding Crashers. Funny guys Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson (someone get me a towel to wipe the drool from my chin, please) star in this comedy about two guys taking advantage of women's emotions stemming from weddings, when things go awry. I would tell you what, but unfortunately that'd be a spoiler.

There is a lot of humor similar to Anchorman and Dodgeball (seeing as how its the same cast that keeps showing up), but its different subject matter makes it funny in its own way.

Yeah it was weird feeling going to see it by myself.

50 pts for seeing a movie I hadn't seen
100 pts for seeing it in a movie theatre
150 pts total.
