Damn you flash games!

#1 in the WORLD baby!

Its a game based on chance called Rebounds. Some French guy created it. Shannon started me on it, and I didn't stop playing till I was #1. So yeah, here's to that.

I apparently sold my soul today... I applied at Varneys for Alltel booth work. I know the product.. I use it. I'm not thrilled with it being a Varneys thing, I'm going to get screwed out of SO much money because of it. But based on what I've seen... It looks like I could wear whatever I pleased to work. And.. I'd get to play online when I'm not actually doing work. Heh.

Ehhh.. nothing much going on though... Friday is going to be the day of compliance audits.. I've got 3 of them. And crazy stuff, I got a package in the mail to complete one of them, including a digital scale and two thermometers to weigh and record the temp of my drink. I forfeit the first $35 of work checks from the company for it (because I can keep the stuff.. seems pretty cool, the scale might be nice to have in the kitchen... otherwise at the end of the compliance program, or the end of my interest in it, I can mail it back free of charge and get my $35 back.)... however I'm doing 3 audits throughout April, at $10 each.. plus reimbursement for the drinks.. I'll still get a couple bucks out of the deal.. plus if I continue with them.. yeah. The life of a compliance auditor... I must remember to bring my camera with me on one of the audits Friday. At least I gave up the fast food audits, those were killing my figure *laughs* OH I felt retarded too, the scheduler was all "I'll send the package Airbourne Express two day so it should be there Wednesday." It was in a DHL package. DHL = Airbourne Express??? who would have thunk it?

Alright. I have to get those fliers done, and go to bed because I have class in the morning, plus some fliering to do on campus for the random smattering of things I'm selling.

*whee*

OH! I forgot to mention: I'm out of pop again. After 6 months of not having pop in my apartment I did some audits where I bought some.. I ran out yesterday. I'm back on my tea drinking kick. It makes me sad. Tea is so... uncarbonated, and being herbal, its decaffeinated too. *sigh*

My evening in the sun

That subject made NO sense at all :D

Tuesday night: wings and trivia. Aaron won Glory Days.. but.. what? I won the Mini-Six and Showdown? Next week Aaron, next week (ha!)

Ugh. Tomorrow I gotta go put up some more fliers for some art supplies I'm selling off (linocutter, monoprinting inks, linoleum, lexan... etc)... as well as more for my laptop. (If interested, seriously, get ahold of me!) Stupid rent and utilities being due, especially when I have no income to pay for them! What were they thinking?

I am LOVING this weather though, I hope it doesn't get too terribly cold again. Thats usually when my allergies say "Screw you!" I'm loving sleeping with the windows open. I love taking a shower and getting dressed, but letting my hair air dry, and running around barefoot.. everything just feels different. Like... playing in puddles outside in the rain.. or playing in the yard with the sprinkler and coming in and the carpet feels soft against your feet. Its just chilly enough that my heavy blanket feels WONDERFUL, even without my electric matress pad heater. Mmm.

And after last night's attempt to get some sleep at what, 2? haha, and falling asleep around.. 7? I'm actually kinda tired. I think that comfy bed and snuggly warm blanket are calling my name. Few more jobs I could apply for tomorrow. Amber, the bank teller. That doesn't sound right at all. *sigh* Someone will realize what an asset I'd be to any job soon... I hope.

I feel dirty for this one.

So usually I'm quite opposed to posting links to news stories, because usually, it can be found relatively easily. I thought this one was rather interesting though, and thought I'd let my normal dislike for doing so go away and post it the link. It deals with the latest form of inconvenience and potential security risk... spim. Yes, spim. Not spam. Spim.

MySpace Cracks Down on Spim

I feel so dirty for doing that.

Spring break is mainly over.. not much to show for it.

Its been a lazy day... although I accomplished a few things..

I ACTUALLY did my pilates workout today. I feel pretty good. Now if only I can keep this motivation going tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...

I got woke up by the postman. I hate how we have screen doors on our apartments, they suck because they get my clothes caught on them and put holes in things (ie, my KSU hockey shirt, and amazingly, the leather tag on my jeans.. ripped right through it.)... well the postman sounded like he put his fist through my regular door... gah.

Package!

So I got a new batch of items to test... luckily this time its not old lady perfume or "female" products.. its shampoo and conditioner. Its not for color treated hair, but I don't mind too much if it washes the color out faster. *shrugs* I figure, hey, free shampoo and conditioner (name brand at that).

More Manhattan expansions: We're getting a Hot Topic in the mall. If that place hadn't sold out and become the hip kids poser shop, I'd apply for the management position.

Not much else is going on. Last night I made some chicken and dumplings for dinner (comfort food!) and it caused my hand to get real uncomfortable when I managed to spill boiling soup on my hand. "When comfort food goes bad... next... on Dr. Phil."

Okay I'm going to go eat some of that comfort food. I will negate all the work I put into my cardiopilates today. I'm hungry though.

Another weekend...

Another weekend down the drain. I always look forward to Adult Swim on Sunday nights, but at the same time it means that the weekend is over.

I should go to bed, I need to get up early so I can get that whole job searching thing done, and then sit my ass down and watch the CSI marathon on Spike. While doing that, I can go through hockey cards, or maybe work some more on my scarf I'm crocheting.

In other news, the weekend was alright, I suppose. I owe Aaron big for it. The Topeka Tarantulas ended their season Saturday night with a loss in OT/Shoot out to the OKC Blazers. I will give them credit, they have improved their gameplay since the last game I went to (their season opener). But they still ended their season with a record of 16-39-5... and there is word that the Tarantulas may not be around next season, unless investors are willing to pick up the tab... But I digress. Went to a Mexican restaurant called Serapes, it was pretty decent. A little expensive, but most things are expensive to me. After the game, went to Steak 'N Shake and got a cookies and cream milkshake. It was yummy. And like I said, I owe Aaron big, he paid for most of my trip.

I've got a busy week ahead of watching CSI. It appears its going to rain most of the week.. so that gives me that much more reason to stay in and watch.

Day 7 of Spring Break:

Yeah... that sounds weird, especially when I have friends that are still in classes until tomorrow. I lucked out I suppose as far as classes cancelling for the week. However, I have been rather unfortunate as far as my sleep schedule getting shot to hell. Going to bed as the sun comes up and crawling out around.. 2pm... thats not right. However tonight may fix it.

I'm pulling an all-nighter.

And its not even for class. That is part of the lame part. But what it MIGHT mean is that the hard work put in on this project MAY get me a job. *crosses fingers* (I canNOT control THE volume OF MY typing!!!)

What else is up? Um, really not a whole lot. Still hunting for that ever-elusive perfect job that isn't here. I can't believe the luck I've had in not finding a job. I remember the first time I didn't get a job, that was one of the most painful experiences ever. (The first.. geez.. 7 jobs I applied for, I got... I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me when I got my first rejection letter.) Some friends and a help wanted ad have led me to think about a few other places... kind of irregular hours but the pay is good. I've been put on hold as far as the freelance graphics project I picked up through Kuffs. The guy has been sick all week. I hope he gets better soon... he's not wanting to do work while sick. Come on, you're stuck at home, might as well be in front of a computer! (or not.)

I've started my choreography for Middle Eastern dance... it feels good to be able to make up and perform numbers again. I never really realized how much I miss performing. I guess nine years of it, and then going without it for so long really makes you think.

I hate spring too I think. At least when the wind comes in from the south (heaaaddddaccheeee). I'll be happy when its nice and warm (but not scorching hot...) and not so windy. I'd love for mother nature to throw some storms at us too. One, the rain would do some good as far as my allergies are concerned, but really, I just like thunderstorms!

I miss concerts. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Okay I don't think there is anything else I can talk about without repeating too much. I should get back to that portfolio I've been putting off (I managed to find all the discs and books and such that go with my laptop... getting everything together in the event I actually DO sell it)... if I get something fun and interactive to look at going, I'll post a link.

Its like getting an extra McNugget...

... or like you get two nuggets stuck together.

Lately I've been having a run of this. I remember carving a pumpkin at Game Night to find that some of the seeds inside had already started sprouting. This time, its a little different. I am making meatloaf for dinner (eh I had a craving. And the ingredients on hand... as well as being cold. Nothing like baking things when its cold)... and its real simple from what mom says. I started to cut up my green pepper, and upon cutting it in half, something fell out. Another freak of nature, like the Siamese McNuggets... there was another little pepper inside of it.

The world works in mysterious ways.

Update on the meatloaf adventure:
My smoke alarm apparently works.

Learned several other new things today about meatloaf. Chop the veggies up finely. Add more crackers. Use 85/15 or 90/10 hamburger. Don't fill up the pan so much, bbq sauce and grease on the broiler plate in my oven = invisible smoke that sets off my alarm.

The tiny pepper was tasty, in case you wanted to know.

The meatloaf itself wasn't too bad other than the overabundance of grease, and the crunchy veggies.

Sit down... I've got a little story.

Come, sit down, and enjoy this interesting little story.

So, a long time ago, okay, four years ago, I went with my friend Andy M. to a Collective Soul concert in Wichita. There was a band that opened for them named "pete." (hence the nickname I often get called by some) After being in the front row of the show, and running into their road manager, I got the hookup to help with promotions with them. Several months later, they played a show in KC (Johnny Dare's Birthday Bash), and I got to walk around and hand out stickers and postcards and this is when the bandaid-dom of Amber began. I worked a few more shows for pete., one happening to be the next year, with a band that some people may recognize as Bliss 66. I began posting on their board and chatting with some of their fans. I met a guy from their board named Michael. We've chatted off and on for a long time now.

Fast forward about 2 and a half years... or just say.. 15 minutes ago. I was at myspace.com checking out some bulletins, where I read a new post from Eric Skelton, who was looking for promopeople. Granted, he's mainly in the southeast... so its not like I could really help out. If you've never heard of him, check out his profile and a couple songs at the myspace profile he maintains. Sounds a little like Pete Yorn/Jack Johnson-y. Anyway in his bulletin he was talking about needing people to help promote and such, as well as his new publicist... and gave his contact info.

*starts humming Its a Small World After All*

Its none other than my friend Michael. I'm glad he's got some work heading his way with Eric, because he's done work with a number of groups (including working for Sony)... but has been searching for a bit as his last group broke up. That is so weird though that I randomly clicked on the bulletin to read what was up, and found that.

Okay, you all can go back to bed now. I know I am.

I'm killing off my xanga.

Not enough people read it. Honestly, I'm not sure that ANYONE reads this one either *laughs* There is less drama here, at least there aren't subscription pages where I can see what all of my friends are up to and how they spend all their money all the time and how they just up and go on a road trip to St. Louis for a Ludo show. Or Chicago for the D+E. Or to Cali to see Jupiter Sunrise. Thats great for you. I'm glad that you have the funding to do that (thank your parents, I'm sure they are funding it). Maybe I'm just bummed that I don't have a job, that I'm tired of phone calls saying "We hired someone else, but we'll keep your information on file.".. tired of having to borrow money from my parents. Maybe someday soon I'll have something positive to post. I should really come up with a theme for this blog too. I thought about turning it into my concert photo page... but I'm actually making a site out of all those pages... hmm. We'll figure something out. And by "We'll"... I mean me.
